“God, if you would work out these details, I could better serve You.”
Do you hear that? Basically, I’m saying, “Since I know how I can best honor You, please arrange the season, skills, time and opportunities so I can accomplish A, B, and C for your Kingdom because that is the best way I can do that. Surely You want to free me up to do all these THINGS for You.”
Hold your horses! Our God is self-sufficient. He is independent, all-knowing, all-powerful and ever-present.
“I know that You can do all things,
And that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted.”
God doesn’t need me.
But sometimes I work the word IF into my thinking in a way that sounds like serving God has conditions.
If I was just out of school…If I didn’t work full time…If God would just provide ……If only I had more abilities…THEN I could serve God more effectively and efficiently.
Forgive me, Lord, for my pride in thinking that You are limited and that I know best.
I do not exist to feel successful. God doesn’t need me, but He does INVITE me to feast at His table and share in the joy of obedience!!
Each part of my routine is an opportunity to glorify Him by His grace!
With the beauty of springtime busyness, let’s “ponder anew what the Almighty can do.”
